Jose Spínola is a Mexican director, creative director & photographer who works across music, fashion, documentary, advertising and branded content projects. In his work, he establishes deep connections between his characters and their environments with captivating empathy. A true cinephile and abroad knowledge about photography, film, and art, he impregnates the projects of in-depth content with a whimsical approach to aesthetics, light, color, framing, and composition.
His multidisciplinary approach has to lead him to work with artists such as Kim Gordon, Zola Jesus, Devendra Banhart, Philip Glass & James Turrell, Kashmir, Jordan Rakei, Bomba Estereo, Sudan Archives, Gilles Peterson, and clients such as Beefeater 24, Gucci, Google, Nissan, Sony , Saba, Bimba y Lola, among many others. His editorials have been published in magazines such as Wallpaper, Gup, L'offciel, Suitcase, Lensculture, P Magazine, I-D, Hotbook, to name a few. Also, his work has been exhibit in Taipei Contemporary Art Center. Recently he has been published on the books “100 sculptors of Tomorrow” of Thames & Hudson, in London and "Chineseness in Chile" of Palgrave Macmillan.
While he's not working on commercial projects, he puts his time and soul into developing passion projects, documentaries, and photographs.
